Capture2Text (Windows) - Captures text from photos

Everyone knows you can't select the text you see in a photo onscreen. So what do you do when you need to copy it? You're certainly not going to type it out by hand! Here's an easier(?) way to grab the text in photos on your computer screen - OCR it!

Capture2Text is an open-source tool designed to use optical character recognition to read the text in a graphic on your screen and pop the result into a little editable window for any corrections that are needed (machines aren't perfect!). You can then copy it to your clipboard and paste it wherever your heart desires.

I found it a little tricky to get the hang of, but as you can see below, it works!

Windows Double Explorer - Twin panes and tabs to boot

The standard Windows Explorer leaves much to be desired, but this powerful utility can make up the missing difference. Offering a double-paned view and multiple tabs means you don't have to open several explorer windows to perform the simplest of tasks.

OutSync - Sync your Facebook contact photos with Outlook

Everyone's getting into the act. Socializing everything. And I think that's a good thing. Pulling your Facebook contacts' photos into Outlook is a nice treat, making your Outlook stuff less stuffy. From the developer:

If you are prone to scanning lots of pages and tired of trying to make them presentable, this app could save your life. OK, not your life, although anything is possible. Perhaps lots of time and stress. From the developer:
